Co-packers · Packaging buyer’s guide
Packaging approval becomes difficult when different people approve the design, product information, and line fit. Name the owners of those decisions before the files enter production.

The short answer
Split approval ownership into structure and line fit, product content, and print appearance. Record the current revision and obtain reapproval when a relevant change is made. This prevents one person’s design approval from being mistaken for approval of every production requirement.
What to review before approving production
Use one version record with a structural approval, a content approval, and a print approval. Record changes after approval and identify whether they require another proof or trial. A verbal comment in a separate conversation should not silently replace the approved production file.
Build a practical project brief
- Named approvers by responsibility
- Single current artwork revision
- Structural and line-fit approval
- Written change and reapproval record
