Labels · Packaging buyer’s guide
For products used near sinks, showers, or coolers, ask how the whole label performs when wet. A face material that tolerates moisture does not establish that the ink, finish, or adhesive will perform on your container.

The short answer
Water resistance needs to be evaluated across the facestock, printed image, finish, and adhesive. Define the exposure and acceptance criteria before choosing a construction. A successful splash test does not establish performance under indefinite immersion.
What to review before approving production
Write down the exposure you actually expect: occasional splashes, condensation, repeated wiping, or immersion. Test a representative construction on a clean production container and inspect the printed image and edges after that exposure. Avoid treating waterproof as an unlimited performance promise.
Build a practical project brief
- Exposure type and duration
- Container surface and cleaning routine
- Application temperature and dwell time
- Acceptance criteria for ink wear and edge lift
